El Objeto o finalidad primordial
de la SEOM es estimular el estudio y la investigación
de la enfermedad neoplásica y procurar
la homologación de criterios clínico-terapéuticos
en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de la
misma, a cuyo fin se propone:
a. Promover el desarrollo de
los medios terapéuticos idóneos,
con su investigación a todos los niveles,
básico, experimental y clínico.
b. Procurar la coordinación
de estos medios en tono armónico y
complementario.
c. Estimular la uniformidad
de criterios para el tratamiento del cáncer
en sus diversas localizaciones y extensiones.

Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas
Carlos III (CNIO).
El Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas (CNIO) fue creado en 1998 por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III dependiente del Ministerio de Sanidad. El CNIO está gestionado por una fundación, creada simultáneamente con el Centro, cuya denominación es la de Fundación Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas Carlos III.
La misión esencial del CNIO es llevar a cabo una investigación de excelencia y ofrecer tecnología innovadora en el ámbito del cáncer al Sistema Nacional de Salud.

- Gynecologic Cancer Intergroup
El Cáncer Ginecológico Intergroup
(GCIG) es una organización en la cual
participan representantes designados de los
diferentes grupos de investigación internacionales
y nacionales que realizan ensayos clínicos
en cáncer ginecológico.
GCG - The EORTC Gynaecological Cancer Group
 The EORTC Gynaecological Cancer Group has increased it's collaboration with different other groups substantially. We collaborate with the following groups : EORTC Clinical Trial Group, NCIC-Canada, Scottish Gynaecological Cancer Group, Nordic Society of Gynaecological Cancer (NSGO), Medical Research Council (MRC, UK), Gynaecological Oncology Group (GOG-US), Arbeitsgemeinschaft fûr Gynekologische Onkologie (AGO - Germany). Representatives from each group usually attend the meetings and this is reciprocal whenever possible.
In addition the EORTC-GCG is one of the founding members of the Gynaecological Cancer Intergroup. In this group most multicentric groups, studying gynaecological cancer ,are represented and meet twice a year.

Cancer Institute
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), one of eight agencies that compose the Public Health Service (PHS) in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The NCI, established under the National Cancer Act of 1937, is the Federal Government's principal agency for cancer research and training. The National Cancer Act of 1971 broadened the scope and responsibilities of the NCI and created the National Cancer Program. Over the years, legislative amendments have maintained the NCI authorities and responsibilities and added new information dissemination mandates as well as a requirement to assess the incorporation of state-of-the-art cancer treatments into clinical practice.

La misión de la AACR es prevenir y curar el cáncer a través de la investigación, educación y comunicación. Los propósitos son promover la investigación en cáncer y en ciencia biomédica relacionada; acelerar la diseminación de nuevos hallazgos de investigación entre científicos y otros profesionales dedicados a la conquista del cáncer; promover la educación y la formación en ciencia, y avanzar en la comprensión de la etiología del cáncer, su prevención, diagnosis y tratamiento en todo el mundo.

Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)
Como organización sin ánimo de lucro, ASCO se dedica desde 1964 a apoyar todo tipo de investigación sobre el cáncer, pero en particular, aquella investigación clínica orientada al paciente. La misión de ASCO presenta cuatro puntos de relieve: facilitar la realización de cuidados clínicos de alta calidad; promover el intercambio y la difusión de información y las ideas relacionadas con el cáncer, incluyendo la biología, diagnosis, técnica, tratamiento e impacto psicosocial del cáncer; facilitar la formación de todas las personas en investigación clínica y el cuidado total de pacientes con cáncer, y promocionar la comunicación óptima entre las diferentes especialidades implicadas en el estudio y tratamiento del cáncer.

The Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) is a national medical
specialty society of physicians who are trained in the comprehensive
management of women with malignancies of the reproductive tract. Its
purpose is to improve the care of women with gynecologic cancer by
encouraging research, disseminating knowledge which will raise the
standards of practice in the prevention and treatment of gynecologic
malignancies and cooperating with other organizations interested in
women's health care, oncology and related fields.
